About

This Site is dedicated to the worship of Jesus Christ, specifically through the bands of Vintage21 Church and the worship of the congregation on Sunday morning. In time, we hope this site grows to reflect the worship of Christ followers during every moment of life.

Vintage21 Church has two campuses in Raleigh and Durham, North Carolina. While firmly believing worship is more than a once-a-week event, we hold that once-a-week gathering in high regard. Every Sunday is an honor for the church to gather, responding from hearts changed by Jesus, and reflecting God’s beauty to those who do not know Him.

_mg_0953The Bands of Vintage21 are honored to lead the church in worship, and humbly seek excellence in doing so. We have been inspired by the Psalms- the poetry and praise of God’s people- and hope to bring new songs of worship to our specific local church. In addition, we love the language, depth and tradition of hymns. Being in Raleigh, NC means a rich experience of music to draw upon. The undercurrent of music in this area comes from a rich agricultural and rural history whose deep roots we treasure. In short, you may hear elements of folk and bluegrass. We’re also blessed with musicians of different backgrounds, interests, and training, which brings a blend of style as well. Rock, soul, jazz, they all show up. It’s a beautiful thing when musicians come together to bring glory to God!

The Worship Pastor at Vintage21 Church is Matt Stevens. Having played in bands growing up, Matt’s love for music brought him to the thriving music scene of the Raleigh/Chapel Hill area in 2000. When considering the job as Worship Pastor, Matt knew Vintage21 Church could be a place where all would be welcome to explore Jesus Christ. Since then, he has committed to leading worship in a way that honors God and draws people into His presence. He’s played drums in The Whalewatchers for years, but recently switched to guitar, and enjoys the chance to lead worship with the amazing musicians at Vintage21. Matt lives in Raleigh with his wife, Christin, their two daughters, and their dog, Margot Tenenbaum.
