This week Josh Bain and Mike Simons led the congregation in worship. Josh wrote the Sunday Review…
Today was a great day and being able to be part of something as beautiful as baptisms made it even better. It is truly a wonderful picture to see unfold when someone arises out of the water and to see the joy that overwhelms them! We as a band feel blessed, amazingly blessed!!!

Chainbreaker
Words by Charlie Hall
Music by Kendall Combes, Dustin Ragland, Brian Bergman, Quint Anderson
I love opening the service with this song. Declaring from the beginning that the chains have been broken and death defeated. The opening shout as we chase after all God has for us.

Sermon: Philippians 2:1-11
Pride has been seen as the sin that lies beneath the sin. It is the most basic form of idolatry–the worship of ourselves. It is the sin that our first parents Adam and Eve were guilty of. In Philippians 2:1-10, Paul exhorts the Philippian church to be united in humility just as in Jesus’ incarnation he humbled himself to the point of death on a cross. This week Pastor Tyler shares his personal affection for this passage and the deep impact it should have on all believers.

Come Thou Fount
Words by Robert Robinson
Arrangement by:  Josh Bain
I have said this in previous Sunday reviews but I will say it again…this song is just beautiful! My favorite lyric is when it speaks how we are prone to wonder from the God we love but then we ask God to take our heart and seal it for His purposes and He does!

When Tears Fall
Words and Music by Tim Hughes
This song packs so much power in its lyrics and musically how it is driven. Life is never how we plan it to be and many times we can feel lost in it all. This song is all about clinging to the heart of Jesus and running to Him in the midst of trials when we may or may not want to. We do this because He is the one who restores, gives peace, revives, heals and loves.

It Is Well With My Soul
Words by Horatio Spafford, 1873
Music by Philip Bliss, 1876
Arrangement by Mike Simons

Another gorgeous hymn that has an amazing story behind it. In case you are not familiar with the story, here is a brief synopsis. The author, Horatio Spafford, wrote this hymn out of a life of heartache which included losing his family in a shipwreck. Out of this turmoil he held firm to the hope in Jesus and wrote this song.

It is an awesome thing to know that God is with us always.  We may, at times, feel far from Him or as if He is not even there but He is and when we run to Him when trials come and claim the promises He has given us He will deliver us.
