A quick update on the Worship Arts Ministry at Vintage21 Church.
This past Wednesday we hosted an Acts 29 Regional Event, where Elliott Grudem (Christ The King Presbyterian), @PastorTyler Jones (@V21Church), and Dr. Sam Williams (SEBTS) all spoke about the effectiveness of the gospel. That’s a broad nutshell answer, and I suggest listening to all three podcasts. They’ll be posted on the Acts 29 website soon. In addition, John Boggs and the band from Portico Church in Charlottesville, VA came down. They did a fantastic job- all talented musicians whose spoken goal was to be centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you’re close to Charlottesville, go check out a service- you’ll be led to worship God. After the event we had a gathering of Acts 29 members and people from local churches. We gather as worship leaders and worship pastors to discuss questions and issues that are going on in our churches. This time was no different- profitable, great discussion, and I walked away with several things to consider.
This Sunday at @V21Church we’ll be joined by Thad Cockrell. As mentioned in last week’s post, we’ve been writing music together, and this weekend’s song is special. It’s called “When You Are Not Enough”, and deals with the condition we find ourselves in when we seek anything other than Jesus Christ.
Last Saturday we held auditions for the new bands at @V21Church. Fifteen people came out, and the potential band leaders and I ran the auditions. It was a successful day, and I’m thankful for who God has brought to Vintage21, and the way he’s awakening our desire to worship him.
Next week on worship.vintage21.com: We’ll begin rolling out the new band leaders and their visions for bands. It’s an exciting time here at @V21Church!
Have a great weekend!
